Who Knew

Who knew that growing a human being really is exhausting. I honestly do not think I have ever been so tired in my life - it seems the more I do, the slower I get. 11 weeks tops left till we get to meet our daughter, I am so excited! But in the meantime, honey,if you are reading this, I really am tired, not dramatic.

Have a wonderful weekend to everyone and if you are heading out to Mardi Gras, smoke some ciggies and have plenty of drinks in my honor - I love this weekend, how life is quickly changing.

For My Little Cowgirl - Yeehaw!

So ever since I stumbled upon these little socks last Spring, I have been just dying to buy them, they make them for boys too (cowboy boot) - of course they are always the first things to pop into my head when I think baby gift, but for some reason had never pulled the trigger - until now. Oh, and yes, they are a baby gift for my little girlie, is that wrong? Nah.

Anyway, I think they are a great start to the little cowgirl boots she is sure to have to stomp around the house in during her younger years - I have always imagined my kids running around in undies, cowboy boots and capes, screaming at the top of their lungs, just having the most fun in the world. So of course, this is step one - only I doubt she will be screaming with joy but really just to get the boob. Oh I just can't wait!

We had our 30 week check up two days ago and all went so well! As we waited to be called back, she was just kicking away, so much so that it caught Hicks' eye, so he proceeded to poke my belly and of course, she would kick back, right in the same spot. I can just hear it now, "Dad, get out of my room, you're not funny!" Anyway, it is really neat to not only feel her move and groove, but to see her little (probably not so little) personality develop. It is truly the most amazing experience having a little one growing inside your belly. Of course I do have my 'oh shit, what did we get ourselves into' moments, but those quickly pass as I look forward to all that is ahead of us.

Anywho, just wanted to share the cutie batootie sockies that she will be sporting for the next year, now all we need is a saddle for Cash - LOL!

New Leaf - Restart button

So today I have decided to hit my 'restart' button. I've been bored, almost lost for too long and as I approach my one year anniversary of being laid off, I find is time to do something more consistent and productive. Yes, according to my husband there are several things that I can be doing everyday, but for me, I don't always feel that way or at least I am just not in the mood. So I want to re-invite you to my blog, I promise to keep updates regularly and hopefully entertain you at the same time. With new baby on the way I am sure there will be plenty of stories, there already have been, but I want to share with you. So I am going to give myself a big welcome back pat on the back and cross my fingers this all works out. Little bits is kicking away inside my belly right now with total excitement over the idea - she is an active one, which really comes to no surprise.

I cannot wait to let you all back into our lives, with new baby, our crazy 110lb lap dog and all the other wonderful things we have been blessed with in our lives, the good, the bad & well the ugly - censored of course - no birth pictures here!

Baby In My Belly!

That's right, there is a baby in my belly and we could not be more excited! Truly a fun, exciting, scary new chapter in our lives but we are ready for this little person to add to our little family.

Baby Hicks is due April 14th, 2010

Yes, we will find out what the sex is going to be. However, Zach and I want to try to wait and open an envelope Christmas morning to find out - it will be like we are 5 again, can't sleep Christmas Eve, so excited for what the next day brings.

Today we celebrate Cash's 'Gotcha Day' - three years ago today we adopted this hound from the HSMO (Humane Society Missouri). Life is good when you have a best friend like my Cash Money - we love you Bubs, couldn't imagine life with out you. Woof. Woof.

Not A Happy Camper

I am not a happy camper this afternoon -

Michigan Day

Today is one of those days I just can't not love, a little rainy but not really, about 60 degrees out with a nice soft breeze - I call this a cool Michigan day - a favorite. I turned off the AC and opened up all the windows again, Cash of course is in position on the couch, catching the breeze on his face while also playing neighborhood watch dog, life is good. If only we really were in Michigan again, it would be perfect!

As far as the job hunt, slow my friends, very, very slow - I really feel like I am starting to loose faith in myself, I don't want to give up on my career, but there is this little piece of me that keeps telling me to just settle for something else - booo! It's time kids, I need a jobie job, stat - Zach and I are just ready to get our lives back on track, it's like right now, we can't commit to anything, because we don't know if we will have the money for things, or what our schedules are going to be, it's all just so uncertain right now.

Well, back to reality here , maybe I can come back as a dog in a great family for my next life - I must say Cash has it pretty damn good. xoxo

Life is good.

Seriously, life is good. Yeah, we have had a few downs lately, but honestly - it's great. This is my favorite picture this month, it's so innocent, quiet and makes me feel so lucky. For all those who may or may not know, Zach started his new job this past Monday, so far so good - hopefully not to far off for me as well, although with this weather we have had this week, it makes it really hard to want to go back to work. Oh wait, bills, yes that is right and fun, hummm ... guess I am going back, hopefully soon! So anyway, I am not as great at this blogging thing as I was my last unemployment time or as I refer to it as my 2007 sabitcale, damn facebook has sucked me in. Well, I must say, today was a good day and life is good - hopefully the rain they say is on the way can hold off so we can bbq brats tonight - I love Spring!! Hope your day has been as nice as mine today, my advice, grab a beer, take a load off and go on enjoy yourself.

Had a great weekend up in the nati - rushed home yesterday for Easter with the fam. Always so much fun and damn, mama can cook like no other motha'! Speaking of my mom, wow - she is so nervous Zach and I are going to move to Cinci, I don't blame her, I don't want to go either!!! I love everyone there, it's just not really where I want to live, not to mention I am no where near the frame of mind to sell our house, pack, etc.. I would probably just say f' it - sell everything or burn it all. Wow, I am not in a very good mood today, my appologies.

Come on job - where are you?? I must admit, this no job thing for the both of us is really starting to wear on me, I feel like I am loosing control of so much - especially my mind. This is not my best post ever. Did I mention I am sitting in the bath tub? Ha, ha ... we are fine, just needed a little me time and the bathroom is the only door with a working lock - and thus here I am, if only there was hot water, bubbles, a glass of wine and silence - perfect. I wish it was Tuesday and Biggest Loser was on, guess I will just have to wait for tomorrow.

Well it has once again been a long while and yes there is a lot to catch you all up on. For one, I 'officially' quit smoking December 21, 2008. I never thought I would be able to do it, but one day it was just so freakin' cold and I quit, cold turkey. Of course I still love my occasional smoke with a beer but considering everything going on these days with us, I am doing very well, although the 18lbs I have gained and the constant feeding frenzy drives me crazy - I know it's the best thing to do!! So to bring you all even more up to speed, I was laid off from my job in Feb and Zach was laid off in March - and the job market for Graphic Designers in St. Louis sucks big time. I now fill my time with freelancing, facebook, hopefully get back to blogging, and yes, I joined twitter, I am really not that sure, maybe it's Ellen ... she has brained washed me with her crazy dancing and witty charm. Well, it's late ... we are heading out to Cinci for the weekend here in the morning, so I should probably hit the hay. Good night! xoxo

Saturday Morning Nazi ... Sunday Snoozer

Well, I guess I don't have too much room to talk, I laid in bed till about 11:30 on Sunday, wow, when was the last time I have done that? Anywho, the weekend was great, the weather could not have been more beautiful and we actually had a weekend!!! Wawhoo!!

Okay so it's Tuesday and I am just now writing, but I am still easing back in remember ...

Oh on a high note (LAAAA) Paul and Allison had the twins Monday!!! Boys - Mark & Joseph, and wow, Mom doesn't even look like she had a baby and dad of course so proud, we are so excited to meet the newest editions. Running on, to ADD to sit tonight. Smoochie Boochie!

What a beautiful fall day and he is still sleeping ...

Seriously, it is gorgeous out right now, Cash and I just got back from and hour and a half walk, ate breakfast and old Hicks is still sleeping. I think we do this every weekend, that is of course if we do not have plans to go fishing - then of course we are up at the crack, but come on - there are not too many days like this left in the year and there is so much going on today, grrrrrrrr. GET OUT OF BED - you are not in college any more! Well, I will keep you updated, but I can already tell today is going to end up being lame, our first Saturday in I don't know how long that we have completely wide open to do what ever we want, and yes, we did sleep in, but the day is a wasting away and there are so many fun (free - at that, bonus) things to do, we shall see. We could go to Oktoberfest, apple picking with the little one's, go see Niki at the Botanical Gardens, hit the Zoo, the ulitimate dog challege at Purina Farms, I mean the list goes on, I even through out fishing as something we could do. Maybe he just doesn't like it here, maybe he is sad and not modivated - and that sucks. Well I'll update you shortly, I think I hear the old man now.

Day 2 - back in the sadle - maybe?

WaWhoo! Another entry with not much to report. Although, I haven't blogged in sometime and there is really truly an amazing amount of crap I can write about to catch you all back up to speed, I am honestly just not feeling it so much tonight. We have the big debate starting here in just a few and I guess, since I am a voting American, it is my duty to watch, dissect and maybe learn a little about the two possible vp's. To be honest, I would rather be watching the season premere of Kath and Kim - oh I can't wait for that show to begin. (Wow - I really sound cool right there, and I am being sarcastic here).

Well, I am going to run along - no cool, intersting, or out of the ordinary things today, well I do have something, but I am going to hold off, partly b/c I don't have it on my home computer, it's at work. Rest assure, there will be some fun stuff in the future.

Welcome to the new spot - finally my URL matches my title, may not bug some, but always bothered me at times. Well it's a celebration, my sista' started her blog tonight which brought me back to here. Also, please don't think of me as a total slacker, I was working on a blog. Our friend Pete, you should check it out, peterman.blogspot.com, it worked out better than Zach and I could have ever imagined, and explains a few test things on my blog. Well, it's late and back to the grind stone once again tomorrow so I don't want to stay and play too long. However, there is a ton of stuff to catch up on, I cannot beleive it is already October, WTF? Hope life finds you all well, can't wait to tell you all about my boring, yet hectic, at times, life. Here we are at our wedding with Cfx peeps! We really had such a blast! I think I blacked out after the vows, the rest of the evening is such a blur - it went by way to quickly. We keep saying we would love to do it again because we had so much fun, well, not the planning but the day would be fun to do again, and not change one thing.

Hello Strangers!

If you even visit my blog anymore, sorry... it's been a crazy time around this joint! We moved, went out of town a bunch of weekends, etc. etc. And just when things are winding down, bam... literally, my car gets hit outside our house at 12 am last Friday, hit and run, great!
